From our first contact, Mike Minto has been responsive to our dream of restoring our tumbled fieldstone wall to its original beauty as a property marker. Mike breathes and shares his passion for this craft and its history. He knows the traditions and feels the stories of centuries-old hand labor in handling and placing each stone in connection with every other. Even as he is efficient in planning, selecting, and positioning the old field stones, he shares the value of his choices while integrating our objectives and provided clear explanations for every one of our questions. It’s been a rich experience to work with Mike and to witness the warmth of his relationship with his son, Ben, training by his side. They completed the project within the expected time frame and budget and we enjoyed working with them. We’re thrilled with the sturdy beauty of our Rhode Island stone wall and its uplifting impact on our property!
